[[Lightning image]] NLDN/BLDN Movie Maker

This form allows you to select data from our current online holdings of National Lightning Detection Network (NLDN) and Brazil Lightning Detection Network (BLDN) lightning data. After you fill in the information requested in the form below, click on "Create Movie" and an animated movie of the lightning events for that area and period will be custom-generated for you.

This information is used to create a unique temporary directory in which to store the animation.

Time Values

Select the starting time, duration, and interval between frames. The interval must be a multiple of 5 seconds. The maximum number of frames in a single movie is 100.

   The default units for "For" and "Every" are seconds. Minute, hour, or day units may be specified by appending m, h, or d, respectively, to the end of the numbers. Example: 5m = 5 minutes.

Select a location in the United States or Brazil as the center point of the animation.

   Longitude

U.S.A.: –128.5 to –63.1
Brazil: –92.7 to –27.3
Filtering

OPTIONAL: Select a center point and radius for flash count filtering, if desired.
